The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) was started in 2013 and to date has funded the upgrade of 2.4 million homes. ECO is in its fourth phase (ECO4) with a budget to fund £4billion from 2022 to 2026 to qualifying households.
Additionally there is another scheme (ECO+), the scheme aims to upgrade the least energy efficient homes in Great Britain. The scheme will enable up to 300,000 households in England, Scotland and Wales to add insulation to their homes to make them easier to heat for less.
